Not very flexible can join Yoga?

Postby sandrapoh » 19 Aug 2009, 15:52

Read from the internet that for Yoga, we will need to perform style like Shoulder standing etc.
I must admit that I am not very flexible. Can I still join in for Yoga classes?

not a problem, its meant to increase your flexibility. do your best and your teacher will guide you along, you just have to know your body and know when to stop.

some poses can do straight away, while others you just might need more practice! =)

different people have different flexibility in different parts of the body. Enjoy yoga!

haha. Excellent. My bones are quite rigid and hard. Hopefully it helps to make them soft.

I also have the same worry as you, but after joining the Yoga beginner lession, i can say that i am more flexible now. Not really have to do shoulder standing if you cannot do it. Do not force yourself. Yoga is for relaxation and do not feel inferior if others can do it and not you.
